My Favorite Apps

Many people have been asking me for a list of my favorite apps to use in the classroom. Some of the following apps we use on a daily basis and some are only used occasionally or at certain times in the curriculum. This list is a work in progress and I am always looking for great apps to use in my classroom. Please leave me a comment and let me know what your favorite apps are!!

*These apps are similar in use. Some are easier to use than others. Some are free up to a certain point and then cost money. Decide for yourself which one works the best and which is not for you!

Shadow Puppet EDU Free (One of the most amazing apps for creating presentations!! We use shadow puppet to make quadrilateral riddles, link math to real world situations, etc.)

Voice Record Pro Free (Good for recording fluency)

Haiku Deck Free (Great for making vocabulary presentations/slides)

Book Creator $4.99- there is also a free version where you can make one book (We use Book Creator for our Interactive Reading Journal)

iMovie Free on most new Apple Devices or $4.99 (We use iMovie to create book reviews, summarize stories, show sequence, etc.)

Shadow Puppet EDU Free (One of the most amazing apps for creating presentations!! We use shadow puppet to make listening centers, present summaries, sequence events, present research, etc.)

Telestory Free (Write, direct, and star in your own TV show. We use it to do story retell)

Toontastic Free (Storytelling, story retell or summary)

GarageBand $4.99 (Some teachers use this app to record fluency and make up songs about learning.)

Digital Portfolios and Learning Management

SeeSaw: The Learning Journal Free (Also has a parent app where parents can access their student’s portfolio!)

Google Drive Free (My students automatically have a Drive due to their email addresses)

Handouts Free (Amazing app for assignment distribution and digital portfolios)

Google Classroom Free (Great for assigning students Google Forms, and specific websites for research. I also assign writing assignments through Google Docs on Classroom)
